Process
All of our digital images start out as original paintings, created in Kelowna BC, then professionally photographed at high resolution.
All of our digital pigment fine art reproduction prints are created with colour managed image files and archival-grade pigments. First paper proofs are made on high quality 192 gsm professional matte photography paper. Then heavier fine art papers are used for selected small editions or limited custom orders.. Canvas prints are printed on exhibition grade matte canvas and coated with UV protective varnish.The materials and process ensure long-term, archival stability for both types of prints. Occasionally there will also be hand embellished prints available. Please check the individual item descriptions. Only the highest quality materials are used for all artworks.
Unframed print dimensions are listed in the store descriptions including the border. Items picked up in person will have oversized acid-free foam core backing in a protective clear sleeve, and shipped items will be rolled without the foam backing board. Canvas prints may have options for rolled, stretched and/or framed choices. Rolled canvas prints include a plain or coloured border beyond the image, which allows for stretching on bars up to 1 1/2" deep.
Custom framed prints are available framed by request (made to order). Please just contact Susan.
Unframed paper prints may include the artist’s signature in graphite on the back, or you may request initials and print information along the lower edge in the white border just below the image. Please include your preference in the order notes.
Archival digital pigment prints are designed to have great colour and permanence. Like all artwork that is handled with care, they can last a very long time.
Tips:
- UV glass can help protect art on paper from sunlight
- For display, even with the most archival materials possible, it is always a good idea to keep any art out of harsh direct light for ideal retention of vibrant original colours over time.
- For storage, it is helpful to keep works on paper at room temperature with sleeves or acid free interleaving
- In our studio, if we use any adhesives, they are always acid-free materials that are designed for archival framing of fine art and photography.
